Hi, I’m Avery!
Hello my name is Avery Grant and I am an illustrator living in New York City with my fiance and our two cats. I love to make magical and silly pictures. I especially like to add in a mischievous character or two! I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in Illustration and a Minor in Art History.
I like to create character driven illustrations that evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth. I start off traditionally with pencil to keep my artwork feeling playful and loose and then I take it into procreate and add paper textures and brushes that mimic traditional techniques. My goal is to create work that people of all ages can enjoy but my target age group is middle grade. I like exploring topics I was obsessed with at that age and now almost 20 years later, still make me excited, like; magical creatures, spies, all the animals, and adventures with friends.
